2016 was a great year for Brate: Traffic grew by triple digits crossing the 3m mark from 2.6m unique users. During that year, we also closed our seed investment round to achieve two main goals:
- Launch the next-generation of Brate.com, and to
- Introduce “Brate for Business”, the new Business Platform (coming soon).
Designing the new Brate
While designing the new Brate consumer platform, we had three objectives in mind: Make the design simpler, cleaner, and more helpful.
In order to achieve our goals, we hired one of the top-notch design agencies in Europe and gathered all the feedback we’ve collected from users, business owners and our own team. We also used our analytics to validate the feedback and understand users’ conversion rates and behaviors. After a year of research and development, we are very excited to introduce the new Brate in Mobile Web, Tablet Web and Desktop Web versions.
New Brate Logo
An all-new platform requires a totally new logo: The new Brate logo is designed to reflect our vision of helping users find products, services and businesses near them. So in order to do that, we worked closely with our design agency to help us represent our original value proposition while re-enforcing our new identity.
Here’s a look at the new logo and new slogan…

New Landing Page
The new landing pages directly identify the market you are in and show relevant products, services and businesses based on which city is chosen. You can visit Brate.com‘s landing page to directly search for products and services or discover what is there in those cities by selecting any of the topics such as electronics, food, activities… Here’s how Brate Beirut looks like…

New Search Results Page
We’ve introduced the concept of window shopping online with our new search results page: When you search for a product or service, we show you a preview of those products and services along with the businesses that sell them, their branches, their locations on maps and other relevant products they sell. You can also choose to sort your results by distance and filter by neighborhood, business and product categories.
Here’s an example how Fitness Zone and Avalon Fitness Plus appear when a user searches for “fitness classes” in Beirut…

New Business Page
The new Business Page directly highlights the contact details of businesses and also shows the various groups of products and services of premium businesses to help you directly identify the relevant ones for you. Here’s an example of Sisters Beauty Lounge…

New Product Page
Brate is all about helping you find products, services and items near you. And to ensure we achieve this in the best way possible, we have added the map location of the businesses that sell those products, services and items directly next to them, along with a relevant call to action button.
